Drest'agath

General Strat

  • The rhythm of the fight is kill adds -> adds drop puddles -> puddles let you dps boss -> back on adds when puddle debuff is gone. Dps will likely be assigned as a bossboi or assigned specific tentacles to deal with.
  • Most of the fight will be spent avoiding things under your feet, avoiding the large Void Glare beam from the boss and Eye adds, and juggling which target you are dpsing. These assignments will be more clear on launch as hp/threat to raid is not certain yet.
  • Tanks will be targeted with Volatile Seed. They will need to run over to a tentacle that needs help going down as any tentacles hit by the Volatile Seed's explosion take 60% more damage. This can also hit players though so don’t stand in their swirly.
  • Player will be targeted by Mutterings of Insanity. This is a large swirly zone that slows the target over 5s then exploding on anyone near them. Run out away from any tentacles.
  • On mythic, killing an add triggers the special ability of that add on all others of the same type that are still up. Might need to kill all the same type at the same time or just avoid the mechanics.
  • To dps the large Tentacle of Drest’agath, you need to be in the circle surrounding them. (Similar to bombs on jadefire masters). Melee will mostly deal with these since ranged cannot dps anything other than the tentacle while in the cloud surrounding it.
  • The Eyes of Drest’agath and the Maws of Drest’agath spawn far from the boss and beam/spit on random players. Ranged will primarily deal with these as they spawn spread out.
  • The Maws of Drest’agath will spit on players near melee (10 yards), applying a stacking debuff and a heal absorb on them. At 4 stacks, the player becomes hostile. Melee needs to avoid dpsing the maws for too long.
  • As we kill Drest’agath’s Appendages, it gains agony. At 100 agony the boss deals aoe raid damage every 2s for 10s. Managing what adds we do and do not kill may be important for timing heal cds with max agony.

Abilities

  • Aberrant Regeneration - Drest’agath regenerates extremely fast, healing 13 million health every 5s. Damage caused by players afflicted by Void Infused Ichor can not be healed.
  • Throes of Agony - Drest’agath begins flailing in agony, inflicting 54k Nature damage every 2s for 10s. This is cast upon reaching 100 agony.
  • Void Grip (tank) - Drest’agath harnesses void energy, drawing the target toward the caster and stunning them for 5s. This attack is only used by Drest’agath whenever he is not actively engaged in combat.
  • Volatile Seed (tank) - Drest’agath implants a seed of void energy to grow in an enemy, inflicting 148k Shadow damage every 2s for 10s. Volatile Detonation is triggered upon expiration. Drest’agath appendages that are within the blast are inflicted with Volatile Corruption.
    • Volatile Detonation - Inflicts 197k Shadow damage to all players and Appendages of Drest’agath within 13 yards. Players hit have all damage taken increased by 60% for 15s. Appendages of Drest’agath hit have all damage taken increased by 60% for 15s.
  • Entropic Crash - Drest’agath collapse reality around it, inflicting up to 734k Shadow damage to all enemies. Damage is reduced the further you are from the center. This triggers all Tentacles of Drest’agath to cast Entropic Crash.
  • Mutterings of insanity - Drest’agath whispers lunacy into the minds of an enemy, slowing the target until immobile over 5s. On expiration Unleashed Insanity is triggered. This ability targets 1 additional target for every Maw of Drest’agath active.
    • Unleashed Insanity - Drest’agath’s whispers of insanity become real, inflicting 221k Shadow damage and stunning all players within 12 yards.
  • Void Glare - Drest’agath launches a beam of void energy, inflicting 99k Shadow damage every .5s to everyone it hits. This triggers all Eyes of Drest’agath to also cast Void Glare.
  • Appendages of Drest’agath
  • Void Infused Ichor - Drest’agath’s tentacles burst with ichor upon death, leaving pools nearby. Touching these pools will cover the player in Void Infused Ichor for 30s and applies Umbral Aversion. All damage dealt by a player afflicted by Void Infused Ichor can not be healed by Drest’agath.
    • Umbral Aversion - After Void Infused Ichor expires, the target refuses to cover themselves in Void Infused Ichor for 1.5min.
  • Throes of Dismemberment (Mythic) - Appendages of Drest’agath, upon death, trigger all other appendages of the same type to cast either Errant Blast, Reality Tear, or Spine Eruption.
  • Dismemberment - Appendages of Drest’agath upon death inflict 5 agony every 1s for 6s to Drest’agath.
  • Eye of Drest’agath
  • Mind Flay - Eye of Drest’agath channels void energy into an enemy, inflicting 40k Shadow damage every 1s and reducing its movement speed for 5s.
  • Errant Blast - Eye of Drest’agath flails in agony blasting the roof, triggering Falling Gore every 3s for 9s. This ability is cast upon reaching 100 Agony.
    • Falling Gore - Chunks of flesh fall from the ceiling, inflicting 197k Shadow damage to everyone within 8 yards.
  • Tentacle of Drest’agath
  • Crushing Slam - Tentacle of Drest’agath slams the ground, inflicting 197k Shadow damage to enemies in the area.
  • Void Miasma - Tentacle of Drest’agath creates a cloud of miasma in a 12 yard radius around it, inflicting 74k Shadow damage every 3s to all enemies inside. Enemies are unable to target into or out of the Void Miasma.
  • Reality Tear - Tentacle of Drest’agath writhes in agony, ripping a moving hole in reality every 3s for 9s. The tear inflicts 197k Shadow damage to all enemies that touch it. This ability is cast upon reaching 100 Agony.
  • Maw of Drest’agath
  • Mutterings of Betrayal - Maw of Drest’agath periodically whispers warnings of betrayal to nearby enemies, applying an 83k heal absorb to all players within 10 yards. This ability stacks and if the number of stacks ever gets to 4, Betrayed is triggered on the player.
    • Betrayed - Drest’agath whispers make you hostile to everyone.
  • Acid Splash - Maw of Drest’agath spits a glob of acid at an enemy, inflicting 148k Nature damage to all enemies within a 4 yard radius.
  • Spine Eruption - Maw of Drest’agath writhes in agony, releasing random sized rings of spines that inflict 222k Physical damage every 3s for 9s. This ability is only cast while Drest’agath is channeling Throes of Agony. This ability is cast upon reaching 100 Agony.
