Shad'har the Insatiable

General Strat

  • Throughout the fight, Living Miasma oozes will spawn at the edge of the room and fixate a player. When it reaches them it will explode, dealing less damage to players far away from the fixated player. The fixated player is slowed 100% in mythic so they should use a slow-breaking ability like freedom. If they are stuck without an out, anyone near them should step away.
  • In mythic these oozes will drop Tasty Morsels that different players need to feed to the boss to drop it’s Hunger stacks.
  • The boss will point at a random player and cast some form of a breath frontal cone.
  • The phases in the journal are shadow -> 66% void (soak) -> 33% poison. While testing, the phases were in a different order but were likely just to test/avoid crashes.
  • The shadow phase involves the boss constantly shooting swirlies at the raid that must be dodged. You need to have a personal available if you get slowed by the ooze adds and get stuck in your swirly.
  • The void soak phase at 66% spawns Entropic Buildup orbs around the room that need to be soaked before they explode. Multiple players should soak each orb as you get a nasty dot with stacks based on how much of the orb you soak. Raid needs to move in to help healers with the Entropic Mantle stacking raid damage.
  • The poison phase has a creeping puddle in the center of the room that slowly grows, making oozes more of a problem. Bait the Bubbling Overflow puddles near the edge of the arena and move forward.
  • At 30% the boss soft enrages, increasing damage dealt by 25%.

Abilities

  • Hungry (Mythic) - Shad’har the Insatiable becomes hungrier as the fight progresses. At 10 applications, Shad’har the Insatiable gains Uncontrollably Ravenous, increasing damage done by 250%. Feeding Shad’har the Insatiable a Tasty Morsel reduces Hungry.
    • Uncontrollably Ravenous - Shad’har the Insatiable goes mad with hunger, increasing damage done by 250%.
  • Crush and Dissolve (Tank) - Shad’har casts a combination of Crush and Dissolve at his main target, and randomizes between different combinations.
    • Crush (Tank) - Crushes the targets armor, inflicting 859k Physical damage, increasing Physical damage taken by 50% and increasing damage taken from DIssolve by 400%, stacks.
    • Dissolve (Tank) - Bites the target with acidic jaws, inflicting 49k Nature damage and an additional 74k Nature damage every 1s for 15s, stacks.
  • Debilitating Spit - Covers the target in a vile spit, inflicting 25k Nature damage every 1s for 5s and initially applying applying 4 applications. Upon expiration, Debilitating Spit Jumps to new targets, giving each new target half the previous target’s total amount of stacks.
  • Living Miasma - The pools around the room coalesce into Living Miasma, which fixate on random targets. When they reach their target, they cast Slurry Outburst. On mythic the player fixated by the Living Chow has their movement speed reduced by 100%.
    • Slurry Outburst - The Living Miasma explodes, inflicting 295k Shadow damage to all players. Being farther from the caster reduces the damage taken.
    • Tasty Morsel (Mythic) - When a Living Miasma explodes, it leaves behind multiple Tasty Morsels. Feeding Shad’har the Insatiable a Tasty Morsel reduces how Hungry it is, but inflicts Slimy Residue upon you.
      • Slimy Residue - Tasty Morsel leaves residue on your hand, inflicting 20k Nature damage every 2s and restricts the ability to pick up further Tasty Morsels for 3min.
  • Phase 1 - Shadowy Carapace

  • Umbral Mantle - A dark carapace envelops Shad’har, which explodes every 20s, inflicting 123k Shadow damage every 2.5s to all players for 5s.
    • Umbral Eruption - Every few seconds the Umbral Mantle erupts off of Shad’har, inflicting 245k Shadow damage to all players within 4 yards of the impact. The frequency of these eruptions increases as the fight progresses.
  • Umbral Breath - Expels a shadowy breath, inflicting 245k Shadow damage and fearing all enemies in a cone in front of Shad’har for 10s.
  • Phase 2 - Void-tinged Carapace - 66%

  • Entropic Mantle - A void-tinged carapace envelopes Shad’har, inflicting 15k Shadow damage and an additional 5k Shadow damage every 2s to all players for 20s, stacks.
    • Entropic Buildup - Shad’har’s Entropic Mantle causes the void to coalesce around the room, which explode after 15s, inflicting 49k damage to all players. Standing in Entropic Buildup causes players to suffer 10k Shadow damage every 2s, but reduces the size of Entropic Buildup, lowering the damage of the final explosion.
  • Entropic Breath - Expels a shadowy breath rapidly, inflicting 197k Shadow damage and reducing healing received by 50% for 6s to all enemies in a cone in front of Shad’har.
  • Phase 3 - Noxious Carapace - 33%

  • Noxious Mantle - A noxious carapace envelops Shad’har, inflicting 74k Nature damage to all players every 3s.
    • Bubbling Overflow - Bubbling Overflow bubbles over, growing outwards and occasionally showering down on enemy locations, inflicting 10% of the enemy’s maximum health every 1s. This effect doubles in strength every 1s while standing in Bubbling Overflow.
  • Bubbling Breath - Expels a toxic breath, inflicting 245k Nature damage and an additional 49k Nature damage every 1s for 10s to all enemies in a cone in front of Shad’har.
  • Frenzy - At 30% health, Shad’har frenzies, increasing damage dealt by 25%.
